The best part about what we do here at Burlington Boatyard is having the chance to meet new people in and around the Lake Community, assisting them as best we can, however we can.

Over the last few weeks we have been trying to help out Emily, a local sailor who loves spending time with her boyfriend on their Cape Dory 25. They are searching for a new Dinghy, and despite there being no current listings for one on our site, we want to reach out to all of you who may be able to help them in their search. Here is her letter:

My boyfriend and I both live in Burlington and we have a Cape Dory 25 at Charlotte Sailing Center that we bought last year. Last summer we kept her at a friend’s house in Shelburne (he has an extra mooring) so we just used his dinghy but this year we’ll be out on our own and we’re looking to pick one up. Neither of us want to spend a ton of money because the boat needs some work and we’d like to spend the spring focusing on that but it will be all for naught if we don’t find a dinghy.

Any local resources you can think of would be great. I’m brand spanking new to sailing and his last boat was a Hobie Cat 14. We’re both pretty green but we’re passionate.

I think we’d like something solid, i.e. not inflatable, probably not wood, nothing fancy, just enough to get us and some supplies to the boat and back and that we can tow behind when we go out.
