‘Voices’ Speaks Volumes for Awareness on Lake Champlain

ECHO\'s Voices of the Lake InitiativeFor those passionate about Lake Champlain and the issues surrounding its well being, we suggest you visit the Voices For The Lake Blog. The VFL project, spearheaded by Bridget Butler and our friends over at the ECHO Center in Burlington, utilize social media technology to foster stewardship and awareness throughout the lake community. This fresh approach taken by the folks at ECHO blends the “old with the new” by tackling timeless issues of conservation and preservation through their use of YouTube, RSS Feeds and Twitter.

The issues facing Lake Champlain affect those of all ages. Through this VFL initiative, every one from the newbie wake boarder to the seasoned angler can be seen and heard, quite literally, in just minutes. Users are welcome to read, submit, and comment on stories covering all aspects of the ongoing effort for a cleaner and healthier watershed. But that’s not all. People can also visit the VFL Kiosk at the ECHO Center and record a video to be broadcast on VFL’s YouTube channel. As you can see, ECHO has taken gigantic strides to make sure people’s voices are heard loud and clear regarding their thoughts on the lake community.

We invite you to see and hear all the great things ECHO is up to by visiting their blog and contributing your voice for our Lake.
